본 연구의 목표는 인간의 본질에 대한 철학적, 문학적 규정이다.

이를 위해 본 연구는 하이데거, 존재와 시간과 한강, 채식주의자에서 나타나는 인간 실존구조의 변경을 다루며, 이는 곧 일상적-평균적 그들의 시선으로부터 본래적 자기에로 변형되는 실존론적 구조 및 실존적 양태를 의미한다.

결론을 앞서 밝혀본다면 다음과 같다. 인간은 우선 대개 평균적 그들로 머물지만, 그는 언제나 자신의 부름을 통해 죽음을 선구하며 본래적 자기로 변형될 수 있다. 그리고 이러한 본래적 자기는 이제 다른 이들을 자신의 비일상적인 결단과 죽음을 통해 변형시키는 심려를 수행한다. 이러한 실존론적 구조는 하이데거, 존재와 시간에서 발견하게 된다. 그러나 이러한 본래적 자기이자 본래적 심려는 평균적 그들에게는 지나칠 정도의 불편함이자 폭력에 불과한 것으로 증거될수 있다. 즉, 본래성의 영역은 평균적 그들에게는 폭력을 통해 무마시켜야 하는 기괴하고 불편하며 불안한 현상이다. 우리는 이것을 한강의 소설, 채식주의자에서 발견하게 된다.

The goal of this study is to define the essence of humanity from a philosophical and literary perspective. To this end, this study examines the transformation of human existence as revealed in Heidegger’s Being and Time and Han Kang’s The Vegetarian. This refers to the existential structure and mode of existence that transforms from the everyday, average perspective toward the authentic self.

To clarify the conclusion, we can first state the following: humans initially remain as average beings, but they can always foreshadow death through their own calling and be transformed into their authenticity. And this authentic self now carries out the concern to transform others through their own extraordinary decisions and deaths. This existential structure is found in Heidegger’s Being and Time. But this authentic self and authentic concern can be proven to be, for the average person, an excessive discomfort and nothing more than violence. In other words, the realm of authenticity is a bizarre, uncomfortable, and unsettling phenomenon that must be suppressed through violence. We discover this in Han Kang’s novel, The Vegetarian
