Objective: The Idolbom Service is implemented under South Korea’s Childcare Support Act. Its primary objective is to promote children’s welfare and to support parents’ work–family balance through in-home care. As idolbomis (public child care providers) play a central role in this service, their ability to build positive idolbomi–children interaction is crucial for care quality and satisfaction. However, limited studies have explored factors that enhance such interactions.
This study examines how idolbomi–parent partnership and child care efficacy affect idolbomi infant interaction, focusing on the mediating role of child care efficacy. Methods: Data were collected from 189 idolbomis providing Idolbom services to infants aged 3–36 months using self-report questionnaires. Measures included idolbomi–parent partnership, child care efficacy, and idolbomi–infant interaction. Structural equation modeling was conducted to test the hy pothesized relationships. Results: Idolbomi–parent partnership had a significant positive direct effect on idolbomi–infant interaction, and indirectly affected idolbomi–infant interaction through child care efficacy, confirming the partial mediating role of efficacy between partnership and interaction. Conclusions: These findings highlight the importance of mutual collaboration be tween idolbomis and parents, and emphasize the need to strengthen idolbomis’ psychological and educational efficacy. Supporting such mechanisms is essential to improving the quality of home-based childcare and addressing the growing social demands in South Korea.*표시는 필수 입력사항입니다.
