인지언어학적 관점에서 번역은 단순한 언어 의미의 전환이 아니라 의미의 구성과 재구성 과정으로 이해된다. 이러한 이론적 기반 위에서, 본 연구는 『국립국어원』 (2005:116)에서 제시한 7개의 시간 연결어미를 연구 대상으로 삼아, 한강의 『작별하지 않는다』(2011)와 중역본 『不做告别』(2023)을 대상으로 한중 병렬 말뭉치를 구축하여 번역 인지 양상을 분석한다. 연구 방법으로는 통사 번역 엔트로피(Syntactic Translation Entropy)와 사례 분석을 병행한다. 연구 결과, 첫째 시간 연결어미의 중국어 대응에는 뚜렷한 차이가 나타났으며, ‘-자마자’는 안정적 대응을 보인 반면 ‘-자’와 ‘-다가’는 높은 변이성을 보였다. 둘째, 총 46례의 데이터에서 방식화, 순서화, 인과화, 융합화, 배경화 등 다섯 가지 인지적 재구성 전략이 확인되었으며, 이는 번역자가 ‘힘 역학(force dynamics)’의 틀 속에서 의미를 재조직하는 메커니즘을 잘 보여준다. 나아가 본 연구는 시간 연결어미 번역의 인지적 양상을 주동체(Ago)와 반동체(Ant)의 상호작용으로 설명함으로써, 언어 간 사건 구조 변환의 보편적 원리를 제 시한다.

From the perspective of cognitive linguistics, translation is understood not as a si mple transfer of linguistic meaning, but as a process of constructing and reconstructing meaning. Based on this theoretical foundation, this study examines seven temporal connec tive endings proposed by the National Institute of the Korean Language(2005), and constr ucts a Korean–Chinese parallel corpus of Han Kang’s I Do Not Bid Farewell(2011) and its Chinese translation Bùzuò Gàobié(2023) to analyze translation patterns. Methodologicall y, the study combines syntactic translation entropy (STE) with case analysis. The finding s indicate, first, that there are clear differences in the Chinese correspondences of tempora l connectives: ‘-자마자’ shows stable correspondences, while ‘-자‘ and ‘-다가’ reveal high variability. Second, analysis of 46 examples identifies five major cognitive reconstruction s trategies—modalization, sequencing, causalization, integration, and backgrounding—demonst rating how translators reorganize meaning within the frameworks of construal and force dynamics. Furthermore, this study explains the cognitive patterns of temporal connective ending translation through the interaction between the Agonist and the Antagonist , there by proposing a universal principle for event-structure transformation across languages.
