연구목적: 본 연구는 대학생의 핵심역량과 희망직업 분야 간의 관련성을 파악하고자 S대학의 6대 핵심역량 진단 결과와 희망직업 분야 간의 관계를 분석하였다.

연구방법: S대학의 재학생을 대상으로 희망직업 관련 온라인 조사에 참여한 335명의 핵심역량진단 결과를 바탕으로 SPSS 25.0으로 기술통계, 카이제곱검정, 2단계 군집분석을 실시하였다.

연구결과: 첫째, 핵심역량은 3개의 군집으로 유형화되었다. 군집1은 6개의 모든 역량이 균등하게 높은 ‘우수균형군’, 군집2는 전반적으로 모든 역량이 미미하게 평균 이하인 ‘기본수준군’, 군집3은 모든 역량이 군집1에 비해 점수가 현저히 낮고, 특히, 소통과 창의적 사고 간의 차이가 크게 나타나는 등 전반적으로 불균형 형태인 ‘역량미흡군’으로 명명하였다. 둘째, 유형화 군집에 따른 희망직업 분야를 살펴보면, 모든 집단에서 보건의료와 건설 직업 분야를 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 1군집 ‘우수균형군’에서는 보건의료(20.3%)>교육 및 연구(12.7%)>건설(11.4%)>화학․섬유․환경 및 공예와 기타(10.1%)의 순이었으며, 2군집 ‘평균수준군’에서는 보건의료=건설(16.2%)이 가장 높았고, 3군집 ‘역량미흡군’에서도 건설(15.6%)>보건의료(13.0%)분야가 높게 나타났다.

고찰: 연구결과를 토대로 핵심역량과 희망직업 분야의 관계성을 확인하여 핵심역량 유형별 차이를 고려한 핵심역량 기반 교육과정에서의 진로탐색 개입과 교육 현장 등의 시사점을 제안하였다.
