지난 수십 년간 중국 다큐멘터리는 큰 변화를 거듭해 왔다. 이에 따라 관련 학 술 연구 또한 양적 • 질적으로 확대되었다. 그러나 이러한 변화 및 확대의 측면을 거시적 관점에서 분석한 연구는 여전히 부족하다. 이에 본 연구는 중국 다큐멘터 리 연구의 주요 키워드와 시기별 변화 양상, 나아가 주요 연구 주제들의 맥락을 살 피고자 했다. 이를 위해 2000년 1월부터 2025년 7월까지 CNKI에 등재된 학술논문 5,281편을 대상으로 텍스트 네트워크 분석과 LDA 토픽모델링을 실시하고, 중국 다큐멘터리 연구의 시기별 변화 양상 및 주요 연구 주제를 검토하였다. 우선 TF-IDF 분석 결과, 2000년대 초반에는 ‘電視（텔레비전）’과 ‘專題片（특집 다큐멘터리）’을 중 심으로 한 연구가 주를 이루었으나, 최근에는 연구 영역이 ‘敍事（서사）‘, ‘傳播（전파• 확산）‘, 媒體（미디어）‘, 문화（文化）‘로 확장되며 서사 • 미디어 관점의 접근이 강화되었 음을 알 수 있었다. 위세 중심성 분석에서는 초기 연구가 다큐멘터리를 ‘사실‘과 ‘기 록‘ 중심의 텔레비전 프로그램으로 이해했다면 2020년 이후에는 문화적 기억과 정 체성 재구성, 나아가 사회적 실천의 장으로 해석하는 경향이 두드러졌다. 또한, 정 책과 기술 발전에 따른 다큐멘터리 산업구조 및 제작•유통 방식에 관한 관심도 증 가하는 중이다. 끝으로 토픽모델링 분석 결과 제작 기법, 서사 전략, 미디어 플랫폼 과 문화산업이라는 세 영역 아래 열 개의 주요 연구 토픽이 도출되었다. 정리하자 면, 중국 다큐멘터리 연구는 텔레비전 등 매체와의 관련성이나 장르적 본질을 논의 하는 수준을 넘어 보다 폭넓은 사회 •문화적 맥락을 아우르는 방향으로 확장되고 있다. 본 연구는 중국 다큐멘터리 연구의 발전 과정을 이해하는 데 기초 자료를 제 공함과 동시에 향후 연구 방향 설정에도 이바지할 수 있으리라 기대된다.

Over the past several decades Chinese documentaries have undergone significant transformation accompanied by a steady expansion of related academic research. However macro-level analyses of research trends remain limited. This study systematically examines the evolution of Chinese documentary scholarship by analyzing 5,281 CNKI-indexed journal articles published between January 2000 and July 2025. Using text-network analysis and LDA topic modeling, the study identifies major shifts in research perspectives and thematic focuses.

TF-IDF results show a transition from early 2000s emphases on “television（電 視）” and “special documentaries（專題片）” to recent attention to “narrative（敍事）” “communication（傳播）” “media（媒體）,” and “culture（文化）” indicating a move toward narrative and media-centered approaches. Eigenvector Centrality reveals a perceptual shift: while early research viewed documentaries primarily as fact-recording television programs, studies after 2020 increasingly frame them as sites of cultural memory, identity reconstruction, and social practice, alongside growing interest in industry structures shaped by policy and technological change. Topic modeling further categorizes research themes into ten topics under three domains－production techniques, narrative strategies, and media platforms/cultural industries.

Overall, Chinese documentary research has expanded beyond questions of media and genre to encompass broader sociocultural dimensions. This study offers foundational insight into the development of the field and suggests future directions for its continued growth.
