본 연구는 강점관점을 적용한 치유농업 연계 방과후 프로그램이 초등 저학년 아동의 정서 및 자아존중감에 미치는 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 프로그램은 강점 관점에 근거하여 아동을 잠재력과 자원을 지닌 주체로 이해하고, 참여•선택•성 취 경험을 통해 아동의 정서적 안정과 자아존중감을 증진하도록 설계되었다. 준실 험설계를 적용하여 실험군 10명, 대조군 10명을 대상으로 심리척도（전반적 행복감, 자아존중감）와 Vibralmage 기반 생체정서지표를 측정하였으며, 아동■부모 사후 인터뷰를 통해 질적 자료를 수집하였다.

분석 결과, 실험군은 자아존중감이 유의하게 향상되었고, 뇌피로도 감소와 자 기조절력 향상 등 일부 생체지표에서도 긍정적 변화가 나타났다. 불안과 전반적 행복감 간 부적 상관이 확인되었으며, 질적 자료에서도 식물 돌봄 과정에서의 성취 감, 정서적 안정, 책임감 증진 등이 보고되었다.

이러한 결과는 강점관점에 기반한 치유농업 활동이 아동의 정서적 안정과 자 아존중감 증진에 기여할 수 있음을 시사하며, 심리척도•생체지표•질적자료를 통합한 다층적 평가 접근의 필요성을 제안한다.

This study examined the effects of a strengths-based therapeutic horticulture afterschool program on early elementary school children’s emotional well-being and self-esteem. Using a quasi-experimental design (experimental n=10; comparison n=10), outcomes were assessed with self-report measures, psychophysiological indicators, and interviews. The experimental group showed improved self-esteem and positive changes in selected psychophysiological indicators, and anxiety was negatively associated with overall happiness. Qualitative findings highlighted emotional calmness, accomplishment, and increased responsibility, often described in relation to caring for plants within this program. Overall, the results suggest that strengths-based therapeutic horticulture may support children’s emotional stability and selfesteem and demonstrate the value of a mixed-methods assessment approach.
