본 연구는 영아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 스마트폰 과의존이 양육행동에 미치는 영향에서 어머니의 우울, 부부갈등의 다중 매개효과를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 한국영유아교육·보육패널 2차(2024) 데이터중 16~23개월(평균월령 19.3개월) 자녀를 둔 어머니 2,104명의 해당 변인 데이터를 SPSS Process Macro 4.2의 6모형을 적용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 주요변인 간 상관관계가 모두 유의하게 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 스마트폰 과의존이 양육행동에 미치는 영향과 우울 및 부부갈등의 영향을 분석한 결과, 직접효과 및 간접효과가 있었다. 이는 어머니의 스마트폰 과의존이 양육행동에 부정적으로 작용할 수 있으며, 우울 및 부부갈등을 통해 그 영향이 증폭될 수 있음을 의미한다. 이러한 결과는 부모의 디지털 문해력 증진과 건강한 가정환경 조성을 위한 정서적·사회적 지원이 필요함을 시사한다.

This study investigate the multiple mediating effects of maternal depression and marital conflict on the relationship between mothers’ smartphone overdependence and their parenting behaviors among mothers of infants. Using data from the second wave (2024) of the Korea Early Childhood Education and Care Panel (KCECEP), this study analyzed responses from 2,104 mothers with children aged 16 to 23 months (mean age=19.3 months) using SPSS PROCESS Macro 4.2(Model 6).

Results indicated that all primary variables were significantly correlated. Mothers’ smartphone overdependence had both direct and indirect effects on parenting behaviors through maternal depression and marital conflict. These findings suggest that maternal smartphone overdependence may negatively affect parenting behaviors, and that such effects may be amplified by elevated levels of maternal depression and marital conflict.

This study underscores the importance of promoting parents’ digital literacy and providing emotional and social supports to foster healthier family environments.
