본 연구는 뉴미디어가 불교 수행과 의례에 미치는 영향을 다룬 국내외 학술문헌을 체계적으로 분석하여, 연구 동향을 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 뉴미디어의 확산은 불교의 수행 방식과 의례를 변화시키며, 온라인 법회, SNS 기반공동체 등 새로운 디지털 불교문화를 만들어내고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 국내외 학술 데이터베이스를 중심으로 관련 문헌을 체계적으로 수집・분석하는 ‘체계적 문헌고찰 방법론(Systematic Literature Review)’을 사용하여 연구 경향을 종합적으로 분석하였다. PRISMA 가이드라인에 따라 문헌을 선정하고, 연구 주제별로 범주화하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 불교와 뉴미디어 관련 논문은 2020년 이후 급격히 증가하였으며, 플랫폼 기반, 종교 실천 및 담론의 재맥락화, 이론과 개념 적용, 지역·문화권별, 사회문화적 쟁점, 방법론적 접근의 범주로 분류되었다. 본 연구는 불교와 뉴미디어 연구의 흐름을 통합적으로 조망함으로써, 향후 학제적 연구의 방향성과 디지털 시대 불교의 사회적 역할 확대 가능성을 제시한다.
