본 연구는 수온, 파고의 높이 등 바다 정보 측정과 원거리 모니터링이 가능한 IoT 부표를 개발한다. 국내에서 제공되는 해양 정보는 ‘바다누리 해양정보’ 시스템에서 실시간으로 확인할 수 있다. 그러나 관련 서비스는 관측 장비 부위가 설치된 특정 지점으로 한계가 있어, 연안 어업에 종사하는 어민들이 필요로 하는 마을 앞 바다 정보와는 다소 거리가 있다. 따라서 센서와 LoRaWan 통신 기능을 가진 IoT 부표를 이용해 기후변화로 인해 빠르게 변화하고 있는 해양 정보를 모니터링할 수 있는 시스템을 구성한다. 또한 개발된 IoT 부표의 GPS 정보의 원격 모니터링을 통해 어구 관리 등 자산 보호에도 활용성을 높일 수 있다.
