경기도 중소기업 디지털 전환의 결정 요인 분석 : 기업 규모, 준비 수준, 정부 지원의 역할 및 상호작용을 중심으로 = Determinants of digital transformation in SMEs in Gyeonggi Province : the roles and interactions of firm size, readiness, and government support
Analyzing 1,053 manufacturing SMEs, this study identifies determinants of digital transformation (DT) adoption and post-adoption levels. Results show that firm size, government support, and necessity drive adoption, with government support remaining effective regardless of firm size. Crucially, post-adoption levels are primarily determined by internal ‘readiness’ rather than firm size. Readiness also moderates the size-level relationship, highlighting the importance of internal capabilities over resource possession, supporting both Absorptive Capacity Theory and the Resource-Based View. Conversely, government support does not significantly impact readiness or post-adoption levels, functioning mainly at the adoption stage. Consequently, the study recommends shifting policy from simple financial aid to differentiated support systems tailored to firms' transformation stages and readiness levels.
