This study proposes a youth-participatory urban AI regeneration framework for the Seongsu-dong area in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, presenting inclusive innovation as the core of sustainable local transformation. It specifically conducted quantitative and qualitative analyses of Seongsu-dong's startup ecosystem, cultural and artistic activities, resident population, AI infrastructure, and local branding. The research methodology utilized the ‘Seongsu-dong Industrial Survey,’ conducting surveys and focus group interviews with businesses, workers, and local residents according to the survey targets. Through empirical analysis, this study proposed policy alternatives in four areas: the startup ecosystem, culture and arts, resident population, and preventing gentrification. The academic implication is that the insights derived from the Seongsu-dong case can be summarized as ‘Inclusive Innovation’. This signifies urban regeneration where youth and original residents, traditional industries and new industries, and local data and AI technology achieve harmony. Seongsu-dong must transform from a ‘pop-up stage for brands’ into a ‘platform for local culture’.
