동시대 미술작품을 활용한 통합적 미술교육이 유아의 감성지능과 미술감상능력에 미치는 효과를 검증하였다. 연구대상은 S시 K유치원 만 5세 유아 47명으로, 실험집단 24명과 비교집단 23명으로 구성하였다. 2021년 6월 21일부터 9월 27일까지 주 1-2회의 ‘감상-탐색-표현’통합 미술활동을 실시하였다. 프로그램에 사용한 동시대 미술작품은 Mink & Everywear, Celeste Boursier-Mougenot, 최정화, Annie Morris, 우국원 작가의 설치, 사운드, 회화 등을 매개로 한 인터랙티브 아트 작품이다. 유아의 감성지능은 자기인식과 표현, 자기조절, 타인인식, 타인조절 및 대인관계의 4요소로 측정하였고, 미술감상능력은 관찰과 묘사, 표현의도, 분위기, 재료와 기법, 미술요소, 태도의 6요소로 측정하였다. 그 결과, 실험집단은 비교집단에 비해 감성지능 전체와 모든 하위요소에서 통계적으로 유의미한 향상을 보였다. 미술감상능력 또한 전체 점수와 모든 하위요소에서 유의미하게 향상되었다. 본 연구는 동시대 미술 기반의 통합적 미술교육의 효과를 실증함으로써, 유아교육 현장에서 적용 가능한 작품 선정의 기준 및 활동의 설계를 제시하고, 유아의 정서 및 감상 역량을 체계적으로 신장시키는 실천적 시사점을 제공한다.

This study investigated the effects of contemporary art–based integrated art education on young children’s emotional intelligence and art appreciation competence. Participants were forty-seven five-year-olds from K Kindergarten in S City, divided into an experimental group (n=24) and a comparison group (n=23). From June 21 to September 27, 2021, the experimental group participated in integrated “appreciation–exploration–expression” activities 1–2 times per week, using artworks by Mink & Everywear, Celeste Boursier-Mougenot, Choi Jeong-Hwa, Annie Morris, and Woo Guk-won that encouraged sensory engagement and interpretation. Emotional intelligence and art appreciation competence were measured across multiple subdomains. Compared with the comparison group, the experimental group showed statistically significant gains in both areas and across all subdomains. These results demonstrate the educational potential of contemporary art–based integrated instruction, providing practical guidance for early childhood educators in selecting artworks and designing experiences that systematically foster emotional and interpretive development.
