본 연구에서는 대학생을 대상으로 불안정 애착과 신체화의 관계를 확인하고, 이 관계에서 자기방어적 양가성의 매개효과와 소극적 대처방식의 조절효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 대학생 280명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 진행하였다. 측정 도구는 한국판 간이 정신건강진단검사, 성인애착 척도, 한국판 정서표현 양가성 척도, 스트레스 대처방식 척도를 사용하였고, 분석 도구는 SPSS 28.0 및 SPSS　PROCESS Macro version 4.0를 사용하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 불안정 애착은 자기방어적 양가성과 신체화 모두에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으며, 자기방어적 양가성은 불안정 애착과 신체화의 관계를 완전매개하였다. 또한 소극적 대처는 자기방어적 양가성과 신체화의 관계에서 조절효과가 나타났고, 조절매개모형에서도 소극적 대처의 조절효과가 유의하였다. 이러한 연구 결과를 신체화 증상에 개입하는 임상장면에서 적용 될 수 있도록 논의 하였다.
