오늘날 인류는 기후위기, 자원 고갈, 불평등 심화 등 복합적인 위기에 직면해 있다. 이러한 변화 속에서 지속가능한사회를 구현하기 위해서는 어느 한 주체의 노력만으로는 한계가 있다. 이에 따라 기업·대학·연구기관이 협력하는산학연 교육모델의 중요성이 그 어느 때보다 부각되고 있다. 특히 기업의 ESG 경영과 사회적 가치 창출이 핵심과제로 대두되면서, 대학에서도 이를 반영한 정규 교과목을 적극적으로 개설·운영하며 변화에 대응하고 있다.

본 연구는 ‘지속가능사회를 위한 혁신플랫폼’ 사례를 중심으로, 산학연 협력 구조가 지속가능경영 및 ESG 교육의실천적 장(場)으로서 어떠한 기능을 수행하는지, 그리고 그 결과가 사회적·환경적·경제적 가치 창출로 어떻게 연결되는지를 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

연구 결과, 산학연 협력 기반의 PBL(Problem-Based Learning) 교육모델은 지속가능경영 및 ESG 교육의 실천적플랫폼으로서 효과적으로 기능하며, 대학 교육이 기업의 현안과 사회문제 해결에 실질적으로 기여할 수 있음을 보여주었다. 또한 ‘지속가능사회를 위한 혁신플랫폼’ 분석을 통해, 산학연 협력이 기존의 기술개발 중심 모델을 넘어 사회문제해결과 지속가능한 사회를 지향하는 협력적 교육모델로 발전할 수 있음을 입증했다는 점에서 본 연구의 의의가있다.
