EMI 환경의 관광·호스피탈리티 전공 유학생의 한국어 학습 요구 분석과 ESP-CBI 통합 교육 설계 방향 : 글로벌호스피탈리티학과 사례 연구 = Korean language learning needs of tourism and hospitality majors in an EMI context and directions for ESP-CBI integrated curriculum design : a case study
This exploratory case study investigates Korean language learning needs of tourism and hospitality majors in an English-Medium Instruction (EMI) context. Survey data were collected from 69 international undergraduate students; background characteristics and descriptive statistics were based on valid responses from 67 students. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation, regression, and mediation analyses. Despite EMI coursework, students relied on Korean for academic administration and daily communication, and identified listening and writing as the most challenging skills. Classroom experience variables were associated with affective factors, with perceived real-life use partially mediating this relationship. These findings suggest implications for an ESP–CBI integrated curriculum design tailored to tourism and hospitality majors in EMI settings.
