This overview of contemporary developments in minority-majority relations contains 22 articles as well as nine reports on international and national developments in Romania, Macedonia, and Moldova. Articles are general--on religion, rights, communalism, territory, and electoral systems--or have a special focus on Ombudsman institutions, the European Union and minority protection, and the Caucasus Region, including Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. The subsequent reports on developments in the Council of Europe, the OCSE Office of the High Commissioner on National Minorities, and bodies of the UN system are by authors associated with the organizations. Other authors are scholars and researchers of political science, human rights, international studies, law, and related fields in the European and Asian countries discussed or are representatives from the European Union.
