In order to prepare neat barium titanate/silica (BaTiO3/SiO2) composite fibers, combined process of sol-gel synthesis and electrospinning was utilized. Electrospun composite fibers were subjected to the high temperature calcinations to fabricate the crystalline structure of BaTiO3. The fraction of barium titanate to silica in fiber and the calcination temperature of fiber were varied. Prepared BaTiO3/SiO2 composite fibers have diameters of 500 nm to 3 mm and show the neat surface morphology without any porous structure. Calcined composites fibers were characterized using powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR).
