피카소의 Blue period의 작품에는 가난에 찌든 젊은 예술가, 자살로 잃어버린 그의 친구, 그리고 천재성으로 표현한 그 고통과 슬픔이 잘 표현되어있다. 그는 이모든 것을 단색의 청색으로 모두 표현했고 이 작품들은 고독과 혼동 우울 속에 질려버린 그 당시 작가의 심리상태를 잘 나타내었다. 피카소의 인생에서는 그의 이곳저곳 옮겨 다니는 특이한 생활 상태로 안정감이 많이 결핍되었다. 이러한 그의 관점에서 그는 거지들과 하류층 사람들을 종종 묘사 하곤 했다. 이러한 비참한 인간 군상들에 둘러싸인 피카소의 환경들 속에서 영감을 받고 이러한 가치 있는 작품들을 창작하여 Blue period를 이룬 피카소는 참으로 신이내린 예술가라고 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 피카소의 작품을 통하여 사용된 블루색상의 개념과 특징을 알아보고 블루칼라의 표현 방법에 대하여 분석 하였다. 앞으로 영상물(영화 또는 애니메이션)에 사용된 블루색이 의미와 표현 방법에 관하여 계속 연구 할 계획이다.
Picasso’s paintings of the Blue period seem to reflect his life at the time: a young genius dealing with poverty; the loss of a dear friend to suicide; and a genius ability that needed to be harnessed and expressed. He did just that with his mono-chromatic monochromatic〔mnkroumtik/mn-〕, adj

b said of radiation or oscillation: having a unique or very narrow band of frequency.

blue paintings. These paintings depict an overwhelming sense of loneliness, confusion, and depression, all of which Picasso was probably dealing with at the time. His life lacked stability in his living situation and he constantly had to move from place to place, starving and living in desolate situations. This aspect can be seem in his depiction of beggars and lower class. These images of human tragedy surrounded Picasso’s circumstances were at the time, it is definitely fortunate that he could receive this inspiration for such valuable works that comprise the Blue Period.권호기사
