In this paper, we investigate the stability using shadowing property in Abelian metric group and the generalized Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability in Banach spaces of a quadratic functional equation,

f(x₁+x₂+x₃+x₄) + f(-x₁+x₂-x₃ x₄)

+f(-x₁+x₂+x₃) + f(-x₂+x₃+x₄) + f(-x₃+x₄+x₁)

+f(-x₄+x₁+x₂) = 5∑^4^_i=1_f(x_i_).

Also, we study the stability using the alternative fixed point theory of the functional equation in Banach spaces.
