본 연구에서는 새로 도입되는 개념인 미혼 커플관계 탄력성을 연구하기 위하여 탄력적인 커플관계를 유지하는 사람들을 대상으로 인터뷰를 통한 조사연구와 개방형 질문조사를 실시하였고, 이를 통해 미혼 커플관계 탄력성의 구성요인을 제시하였다. 또한 이들 연구에서는 전문가 그룹의 합의에 의한 질적연구방법(CQR)을 활용하였다. 개인면접조사의 연구대상은 커플관계 탄력성을 주제로 한 집단상담 프로그램에 참여한 17명 중 선정기준에 의해 커플관계 탄력성이 높게 평가된 5명을 대상으로 실시하였고, 개방형 질문조사는 할당표집을 통해 미혼의 대학생 남녀, 직장인 남녀 각 50명씩 200명을 대상으로 실시하였다. 연구결과 미혼 커플관계 탄력성의 5개의 구성요인이 도출되었는데, 이는 커플관계 긍정성, 커플관계 유연성, 커플관계 탈중심성, 사회적지지, 의사소통이었다. 또한, 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 미혼 커플관계 탄력성이란 ‘커플관계에 대한 개인의 탄력성을 의미하며, 커플관계에서 발생하는 모든 측면에서의 역경이나 갈등을 긍정적, 유연적, 탈중심적으로 적응해 내는 개인의 능력이며 사회적지지 체계를 지니고 활용할 수 있는 능력 그리고 효율적인 의사소통 능력을 포함하는 것’이라고 정의할 수 있다. 본 연구의 의의는 탄력적인 커플관계를 유지하는 사람들의 특성 분석을 통하여 실제적인 미혼 커플관계 탄력성의 개념과 하위특성을 도출하였다는 점이다. 이를 통하여 미혼 커플관계 탄력성 연구가 명확한 이론적 근거를 갖고 다양한 연구로의 확장을 기대할 수 있을 것이다.

The objective of this study was to establish the concept of pre-marital couple relationship resilience. We developed the concept of the couple relationship resilience by understandings from the ‘theoretical research’ and ‘survey study’ with Consensual Qualitative Research(CQR) through individual interviews and open-type questionnaires. Theoretical research was focused on finding a relevant resilience of couple relationship in foreign and domestic papers and classifying sub-components by the similarity of the concept to the resilience of the couple relationship. In the personal interviews, we selected 5 people from 17 participants who showed higher couple relationship resilience in the group counseling program. The open type questionnaires were carried out with 200 people by the quota sampling of 50 people from unmarried male/female university students and workers. As the results, it was found that people with couple relationship resilience had 5 characteristics - Positivity, Flexibility, Decentralization, Social Support, and Communication. Based on this research, ‘Pre-marital couple relationship resilience’ can be defined as the personal durability in the couple relationship and the ability to adapt oneself positively, flexibly and decentriely to the adversities and conflicts, to possess and utilize the social support system, and to communicate effectively. The significance of this research is to establish the concept of practical pre-marital couple relationship resilience through analyzing the personal characteristics of the relationships. It is expected that further researches will be explored based on the result of this study.
